Growing Young Talent For Future Thatcher Success

Thatchers Cider has experienced significant growth in the last ten years and as an emerging Somerset business in the food & drink sector but is not “front of mind” with most school leavers for careers and apprenticeship roles.

Due to increasing challenges for recruitment and to meet future skills gaps Thatchers Cider recognised the need to grow our own pool of talent to secure the future growth of their business. In 2017, they began to engage with local colleges and launched their Early Careers Programme.

Now in its 5th year, Thatchers Early Careers programme has won many industry awards and is now one of the most successful talent pipelines of Talent into the business.

In this session Emma Cox from Thatchers shares the Thatchers story which will include:

  • Employer branding and the importance of having a clear identity to increase attraction.
  • Growing talent from within and the importance of developing cultural fit.
  • Impact and outcomes for the business, retention, and skills development.
