Frontend Engineer, co-host the Glowing in Tech podcast showcasing black women in tech, host & speak at events both virtually and in person, a blogger at https://www.ambershand.co.uk/ and also part of the Leadership Team at Coding Black Females and a Code First Girls Instructor & Ambassador.

I have delivered talks for companies including LeadDev, codebar, General Assembly, Girls into Coding & Coding Black Females. I have hosted several of Code First Girls’ MOOCs (massive online open courses) for companies including GCHQ, Barclays, Bank of America, IPO and HubSpot.

My coding journey started in 2018 through Code First Girls, my mission is to upskill and educate women on how they can learn how to code and break into tech. You can read more about my coding journey and how I landed my first role in tech here (https://ambershand.co.uk/2022/02/08/landing-my-first-role-as-a-self-taught-developer/).

Coming from an Economics and Accounting degree, I’m living proof that you do not need a Computer Science degree to land a role in tech.

Out of over 900 applicants, I have been chosen as Spotify’s Top 20 podcast ideas and have been accepted onto their Sound Up 2020 programme where I will be launching my podcast by the end of 2022.
