Bio

Huma is an experienced Java, JavaScript, C++, SQL developer, entrepreneur and Mum to three children. Software engineering was her passion, working across  so after taking some time out to have her family, and set up and award-winning business with her husband, she was disappointed to face barriers when trying to return to the industry.

The hiring process was not set up for people returning after a career break, but Huma had years of relevant senior developing experience that was going unrecognised. She opted for an alternative route to tech which has seen her land in a dream role in Booking.com’s tech team as a senior software engineer.

She’s passionate about helping more women return to the career that they want and deserve and has real life experience to support why this is is something hiring managers shouldn’t ignore.
