‘The Hunt For Senior Hires In The Public Sector’ was an In-house Recruitment Network breakfast held in London, in July 2016 in partnership with SmartSearch from Jobsgopublic.
Another brilliant breakfast event, ‘The Hunt For Senior Hires In The Public Sector’ brought together around 30 in-house recruitment professionals who were all interested in learning more about senior hires in the public sector. One of our most niche events to date, this morning was devoted to flagging up some of the biggest challenges faced and solutions on how to tackle them. Our partners for the day, SmartSearch from Jobsgopublic, have been devoted to redefining the standards for recruitment in the public and not-for-profit sectors since 1999 through their market-leading job site and recruitment management software, making them incredibly experienced and well-placed to offer advice and understanding to our in-house recruiters in attendance. As always, this breakfast meeting was an opportunity for like-minded peers to share key challenges they face where recruiting for senior hires in the public sector is concerned, as well as discuss areas where they’ve experienced success.

Caroline kicked off the morning’s discussions by giving a critical insight into her role at oneSource and the changes they’ve made and continue to make in their role in public sector recruitment. Caroline has a whole career’s experience in the public sector, but regards herself as particularly commercial in her way of thinking, a way of thinking that the public sector desperately needs! In her presentation she describes some of the challenges as well as some of the key changes she has made to recruitment for her remit that spans the councils of Havering, Newham and Bexley.

Jon finished up the morning’s presentations and introduced the second roundtable session with this incredibly informative talk on senior recruitment. With a wealth of statistics and facts based on a recent survey by Jobsgopublic, Jon gave our in-house recruiters a critical insight into the feelings and behaviours of senior candidates and their attitudes towards jobseeking. SmartSearch offers an alternative candidate search and resourcing solution to the market place for senior, specialist and hard to fill roles so there really was no better person than Jon to talk us through the world of senior public sector hires.
