Tara O’Brien is a highly experienced recruitment strategist, leader and talent developer, her extensive experience and knowledge in talent sourcing, engagement, staff development and in the development of high-performance teams has been honed over 25 years in the recruitment industry and across 3 continents.
Tara has managed internal recruitment & onboarding teams for organisations with in excess of 20,000 employees, within both the private and public sectors, working with stakeholders across the organisations at all levels.
In the past 10 years Tara has specialised within the Hospital, Healthcare and Life Science sectors, currently as Head of Resourcing for one of the UK’s largest NHS teaching hospital Trusts, with in excess of 13,500 staff and approximately 3000 permanent hires per year; prior to this, Tara, as Recruitment Director in the agency space, focused on commercial recruitment across sales, marketing and communications.
Recently Tara has led on regional strategic NHS programs, delivering a Digital Staff Passport project across the BOB (Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire) region, implementing a technology based platform to ensure the fast, secure movement of NHS professionals across the region to support during the Covid-19 health crisis.
Tara holds a Masters in Applied Business Management from Henley Business School and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), she lives in a village in Oxfordshire with her partner, son and three dogs – Hardy, Rosie & Lola.
