Partnerships Team Feature – Jack Williams

The IHR Partnerships Team is unique in so many ways, but what they all have in common is a passion for the recruitment industry. We aim to share more about the partnerships team at IHR so that you can learn more about us!

We’re excited to feature IHR Head of Partnerships, Jack Williams, with a few interesting questions. Don’t forget to connect with him on LinkedIn!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, starting with where you’re from?

I originally grew up in Reading, but moved to London for University and stayed around South West London for the best part of 10 years or so! I went to St Mary’s University in Twickenham on a sports scholarship for middle-distance running and stayed around the area to continue training – it’s a glorious part of the world with the River Thames and many Royal Parks nearby! Beautiful spot.

Where do live now?

Currently now living in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey with my partner and thankfully not too far from the Thames which makes for some great scenery! Had to make sure I stayed in and around the area as there are lots of spots to run – although I am not running competitively as I was when I was younger I am still out running most mornings. The best way to start the day right and give me some thinking space – amazing for both my mental & physical health.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I am a very energetic person, so I like to keep myself as busy as possible – sports, music (picture of the latest gig seeing George Ezra attached – what a night!!), friends, family etc. You name it, and I would probably be up for doing it! I am quite into running, really enjoy Hyde Park, which is an awesome spot to run in, and have also taken up golf recently so lots of time is spent outside which I absolutely love.

If it involves people, and more often than not something outdoors, then you can guarantee I’ll enjoy doing it! I like to keep myself as busy as possible so it’s not often that I’ll have any time to sit around not doing much, although sometimes that is very much needed!

What motivates you?

I am always keen to learn as much as possible and so any opportunity in which I can do that I always go full steam ahead into! I truly believe in the value of our community too and the chance to help them to become better recruiters by connecting them with our fantastic partners is a way that I can be a part of that first hand!!

If I am honest, I also like doing things to the best of my ability so I will always try my hardest however big or small the task – it must be ingrained in me!!

What do you like about working in partnerships?

The people. Working with partners to discover what is going to work best for them, and being a part of the journey to help maximise the opportunity is the best thing about what I do. You can really go in-depth with partners and get to know the amazing people within the teams!

Seeing the end product of IHR being able to showcase the fantastic tech and platforms that our partners have to our audience gives me an awesome feeling.

What are your favourite IHR events?

I absolutely love the Conferences that IHR put on. Seeing some fantastic topic-specific seminars and how much these resonate with the audience and then the chance to have in-depth discussions during the roundtable sessions really provides the magic combination of L&D, insights, networking, & information sharing!

You absolutely can’t beat the IHR Awards too – a fantastic evening of celebration with the best-of-the-best in the industry and seeing the networking taking place over a drink (or 10!) between our community and partners really offers a great night.

What are you most looking forward to for the remainder of 2022 and into 2023?

Seeing the remaining events that we have this year be as popular as what we have currently seen (we are in record numbers for delegates at the moment) to show the momentum in the market and desire to attend in-person & virtual events to learn from peers & industry experts is very much there!

We are currently expanding our offering too, with some really exciting things in the pipeline and due to be released too, so I am really looking forward to seeing these take off and create additional opportunities to connect out audience and partners!

What do you hope to come in Q3 (or Q4)

I think the market is in an interesting place right now. In the wider media there is currently a lot of uncertainty about what the future holds, however what we are seeing and hearing from our community is that there is a lot of demand continuing to hire for growth at a rapid rate. This is where our events & partners can of course help and be of most assistance to our community so I’m confident the next couple of year quarters will go out with a bang!!

A big end of the first year since the pandemic that we haven’t been impacted too much is on the cards and we are really looking forward to carrying this into 2023, and whatever the future holds you can be confident that we will be able to continue connecting our partners with who they can benefit from speaking to 😊
