Breaking Down the Conventional – Lumesse in Conversation with The AA

Following their debut as Headline Partner at the 2017 In-house Recruitment Awards, Lumesse have sat down with one of their most acknowledged customers and category finalists, The AA, to discuss their secret to recruitment success.

In November, Lumesse was proud to be Headline Partner for the In-house Recruitment Network’s sixth annual awards. It was a hugely successful night for all involved, and great to see a number of our customers being nominated across many of the categories.

Among those customers was The AA, who were finalists in two categories on the night – Best Recruitment Innovation and Best Career Website.

Responding to their nomination for the prestigious Best Recruitment Innovation Award, Head of Talent Acquisition, Craig Morgans, revealed that he thinks they made the cut because they understand that candidate behaviour has changed and people want to consume relevant information in a speedy manner. He believes that change is paramount when it comes to maintaining a competitive advantage in recruitment and is delighted that The AA were acknowledged for their approach. “We were shortlisted for our Chatbot/Website solution, which provides content in a different way to a conventional website.”

The AA was also selected as a finalist for the Best Career Website Award. Morgans believes their website stands out because it does more than just list a bunch of vacancies; “It has the right mix of photo and video content, the navigation is responsive and easy to use, and it brings our culture and values to life”. Continuous improvement is clearly a priority for Morgans and the way that The AA want to deliver their recruitment in 2018 and beyond. He explains; “We’ve not let it stand still. It’s not even a year old but we’ve continually enhanced content and given Chatbot an upgrade.”

When asked further about The AA’s plans moving forward and heading into 2018, Morgans stresses that, “Next year is all about the candidate experience and we’re looking at various solutions/technology to help support and enhance this journey. As a team, we’re not afraid to try something new! I’d like candidates to be able to experience what the AA are like behind the scenes, and ensure we’re right for them – and vice versa.”
