Creating a Fair and Unbiased Recruitment Process

Implementing and innovating a diversity and inclusion strategy has never been so important. The wide range of business and people benefits are widely reported and known, but businesses need to move from reactive to proactive and start making real change; let’s cut through statements of intent and make a difference. However slow and steady it may be. Let’s foster a purposeful workplace culture, and shift the dial from diversity to equality.

At our Diversity & Inclusion Virtual Conference, Neil and Laura explored the importance of DE&I in our recruitment strategy. Laura joined the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team at SCS Railways in March 2020, having previously worked for one of the UK’s leading Labour suppliers to the construction industry. As part of her current role, Laura is responsible for supply chain EDI performance, EDI training and ensuring Fair Recruitment and Selection practices are followed to help the project deliver HS2. Laura has an MA in Gender Studies from the University of Leeds and has also recently championed SCS Railways’ internal response to Domestic Abuse.

Topics Discussed
  • How your TA platform can help with ED&I
  • Incorporating ED&I throughout your process from application to reporting
  • Embedding ED&I within your team and culture
  • …and more!
