How to Produce Engaging Content for Your Channel

Our content channels are a fantastic source of topic-specific information for our In-house Recruiter audience. To help you make the most out of your content allocations, we’ve put these handy guidelines together for you.
What content types should I submit?

E-books, whitepapers, guides, videos, and blogs are all welcomed, however we ask that it is:

  • Relevant. Will the content apply to our audience? Is it the right time to publish this content?
  • Valuable. Does the content provide the audience with some insights, or actionable steps they can use in their role?
  • Specific, but not niche. A report on the state of hiring in the UK is topic-specific and likely to resonate with a significant percentage of our audience. Anything that targets just one industry or company size, for example, likely won’t be of interest to many, and may struggle to garner engagement.
  • Not a sales pitch! Each content page will clearly display your logo and company bio, so we kindly ask that you do not include links to your site or product demos.
Content inspiration

The IHR team will be on hand to help you produce the content that is most in demand. We can provide a list of topic specific categories along with suggested titles for your inspiration. We’ll also share what’s currently listed so you can avoid producing similar content.

Content frequency

Your agreement will say how many ‘content slots’ you have. These slots can be used at any time but we recommend spreading them out across your subscription term so you get maximum coverage.

Written content format – blogs, articles, and interviews

For shorter-form written content please ensure that:

  • It is between 500 and 800 words in length, with a clear structure. You can read more on various blog formats and examples here.
  • The content has been proof-read
  • The content is provided in a Word or Google Doc that can be easily cut and pasted
  • If using images within the text (which we encourage!), these are sent over in an additional zip-file, as high-res PNGs
  • A hero image is provided in dimensions 2000px x 1333px, in high-res PNG format. This will be the header image for your post and will have the title on top, so please make sure it features no text and is relatively simple.
Written content format – whitepapers, reports, and e-books

For longer form content, such as whitepapers, please ensure that:

  • A PDF or original document is supplied
  • A hero image is provided in dimensions 2000px x 1333px, in high-res PNG format. This will be the header image for your post and will have the title on top, so please make sure it features no text.
  • A 200 word summary of the document is provided. We suggest that this highlights what the reader will gain from reading the document, as well as any key stats or insights that will encourage them to download.
Video format

For videos, please ensure that:

The video is high-quality (e.g. no lagging, good sound quality) and shot in 16:9 ratio

  • The format is engaging. For example, making use of visuals, transitions, or sound.
  • Subtitles are added, or there is an option for the audience to toggle on/off automatic closed captions
  • The video does not exceed more than 10 minutes
Submitting your content

Please send all content to Thelma Agathangelou, Client Success Manager, at thelma@inhouserecruitment.co.uk with your account manager in CC. We’ll review the content and supply helpful feedback to ensure it’s perfect for the channel.
